Recruitment may officially start in August, but the active members of the sororities have been behind the scenes recruiting since the winter and some incoming freshmen have been recruitment targets for years. Sure, there are a few nerdier girls in DG and KD and ADPi has some quiet girls but those are all great chapters as is AXD. I find that college is s great place to create lasting friendships, with or without a sorority. Would put dg on the same level as kd. That's the truth. Theta smart and cute. Alpha Phi girls are generally thought of as partiers who like to drink and have a good time. OPINIONS, people. Most houses will already have an idea of girls they like before rush even starts.

Almost impossible to get into unless you know a ton of girls in the chapter, are beautiful, and from an affluent neighborhood. Many have noted that while Chi Os are sweet and classy, they are not necessarily known as the most physically attractive women (but not the ugliest, either; many have said they are plain Janes). Each group is made for members who share values and are willing to grow through their ritual. DZ members take pride in their deep involvement in campus Greek life. Majority of the school hates them. Many undergraduates are affiliated with fraternities and sororities, which often provide a sense of community and connection to other students that make their university experience positive and memorable. They may like to act that way for reputation sake, but I know at least 10 who are on loans, student aid, etc. Participate in recruitment activities. No matter what sorority it is you'll find beautiful women inside and out that want to achieve great things. Pi Phi: Their PC18 had some snap bids and it seemed like this year girls prefered Zeta and Chi O above Pi Phi. I'm a Zeta Tau Alpha and I don't wear heavy make up nor do I have a "princess complex." For some it's all about family and money. Time to get with the times and realize that the top houses are no longer in the south and east and beauty and wealth are not considered as much as grades, sports and philanthropy. ,If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. The biggest sororities have hundreds of chapters across the U.S. and abroadthe oldest have been around since the 1850s. AXis PC is a lot prettier than ADPi, KD, and DGs pledge class from what Ive seen. Everyone is different. Circle around KD and ADPi. I just gotta say, for the people criticizing livelonger, don't. I think you are right on about all of them to a large degree. So if you're reading this article, please do more research than this fool did. PAN LOVE PEOPLE!! Some are more popular in the northeast and others in the southern states; some sororities focus more on philanthropy or academics and others on social activities. Ask past and current members, and even people who rushed but did not join for whatever reason, about their opinion of a sorority. These commonly-held opinions give an idea of each sorority's culture, values, and image. That thing that has changed the most is the KappaKappa Gammas are known for hazing. Generally rich, classy, snobby, and brunettes Who are equestrians. Sorry. Connections not necessary but people usually have them. They have a reputation for accepting those who were rejected by top-tier sororities and that they are a backup option for many. AEPhi: Fun party girls. Kappas are the rich girls some are cute but some are not, they basically let girls in who have financial means. Terrible physical house. Some of those houses still hold clout, but others are slipping. Better than Theta for sure. Tri-Delts tend to be heavily invested in philanthropy and prefer to be labeled "classy" over "fun to party with," although they do not want to be considered boring. Pi Phi is cheer or dance types. Upper Bottom Tier: AXiD Those who say that AXiD will always be bottom don't have their eyes open on this one. One consistent observation is that KDs are obsessed with popularity. Our sorority and fraternity community is home to around 60 social sororities and fraternities, each one a member of one of six governing councils, or the Affiliate Leadership Circle. Most post photos and will tell you about themselves. Some rely on their old reputation, even though their reality is not quite as shiny. Also remember that each sorority is special in their own way and just because you arent in the same chapter as your friend or someone else doesnt mean you cant be friends or be supportive of their chapter. Chi-Os are known for academics and being the good girls. Okay so here are the real sorority rankings at UT Austin IMO Upper Top Tier: Theta, Pi Phi, Kappa (aka PKT) Theta: IMO best pledge class. Get APhi and AXO leftovers. Focuses a lot more on GPA than the houses above (you still have to be beautiful to get in). Yea KKG! They were students calling Phi Mu girls Phi Moo at Arkansas and then the girls at LSU are pretty girls and it's a popular sorority. About the Kappas all being rich, I would disagree. At the bottom tier is kappa kappa gamma, delta zeta, AZD, and kappa delta. Also girls from wealthy areas who have strong connections. Some are kind of crazy. IMO will join middle tier in the next few years. One thing I have noticed recently at a lot of campuses, is that kappa kappa gamma getting a reputation of being druggies. I have always been anti-sorority and wouldn't have been caught dead joining one myself--but I have changed my mind. I can see why a Zeta would think they are the best though. The best way to find out whether a sorority is right for you is to participate in recruitment activities and talk with current members. I personally like Kappa better than Pi Phi or Theta but can see why others would prefer one of other two. Pi Phi/ Theta You seem very accurate in your general portrayals of the different sororities. Like my mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. The Kappas aren't rich like the Pi Phis and Thetas.
